“Admissions for degree courses in universities have begun. There will be no virus free-month if we keep waiting. This is in the best interest of our youngsters,” higher education minister CN Ashwath Narayan said on Tuesday.
“Admissions for these courses will be open for a long time. Whoever wants to switch courses or colleges will be able to do so. Fees paid will be refunded in such cases. The mop-up round will be conducted only after the final round of admission,” he said. Students with ILI/SARI symptoms will also be given separate rooms.
There will be no lockdown in the state preventing students from heading to exam centres, he said. “District administrations will provide full assistance to conduct the exam. KSRTC and BMTC will provide bus services for students,” the minister said.
In Bengaluru, around 40,200 students will take the exam at 83 centres.
