BMTC Offers Free Rides For Students Attending Exams 2020 | Bangalore University
BMTC is set to offer free rides for students attending PUC, degree, and post-graduate exams. Students with a BMTC bus pass and examination hall tickets for the year 2019-20 will be allowed.
Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), the city bus service in Bengaluru, has extended free rides to all students appearing for examinations at present.
The announcement was made by an official from the BMTC on Friday.
“For the benefit of students who are attending professional, degree, post-graduate and PUC supplementary exams, BMTC has extended free travel facility on examination dates,” an official of the road transport corporation said.
Free rides have been allowed from the bust stop near residences of the examinees to ones near their examination centers.
However, not everyone attending the exams can make use of this free service.
All professional, degree and post-graduate students can travel on examination dates from their residences to the examination centers only on the production of exam hall ticket along with BMTC student pass.
Both the bus pass and the hall ticket should be applicable for the academic year of 2019-20.
The BMTC also announced that free rides have been extended for students taking PUC supplementary exams as well, wherein the 2019-20 academic year rule will not be applied.
Meanwhile, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) too will allow students to take their Pre- University Certificate Examination (PUC), to travel free of cost from Sep 7- Sep 19 (during the period of the exam). Students will have to produce the admit cards, said chief traffic manager, KSRTC.
