In the present scenario of economic development of the country opening the whole
economy internationally, various sector economic organizations are playing major
role in economic development of the country. It is presumed that to run the business
organization effective and efficient management is required. However there are
various functional areas in the management discipline, human resource
management is the backbone of the management.
Amongst various practices, approaches and programmes under HRM functions
performance appraisal practices are meant for multidimensional purpose such as
development and growth of the employee career planning and succession planning
internal mobility and compensation management which are essential features of
HRM functions.
Appraisal plays an integral role in the employer’s performance management
process. It is an important task of the HR department to appraise the performance of
the employees with no bias and to take fair decision regarding promotion, increment
“MECON Ltd” is the one of the most recognized organizations in Jharkhand. Being
an IMBA (HR) student, I have conducted this study to analyze the effectiveness of
appraisal system of employees to gain practical knowledge regarding principles and
practices in HRM. I hope this study would help the organization also in analyzing
the effectiveness of appraisal system of employees.
